RHA Benevolent Fund
The Road Haulage Association Benevolent Fund (a registered charity) was established to help people in need who are connected with our Association. This includes members and former members of the RHA, their employees and former employees, and their dependants.
The assets of the Fund are held in trust by 12 trustees, drawn from the RHA’s Board of Directors and the Association’s Regional Councils. The Fund is administered by Alistair Morrow at the RHA Edinburgh office.
How can you help?
By telling us about hauliers or their dependents or employees in need in your locality. You can also contribute in the following ways:
Donations - Gifts of money (preferably by cheque) towards the good work of the Fund are always welcome and should be sent to Alistair Morrow at Edingburgh or to any other RHA Offices.
Fund-raising activities - These can be organised at RHA social and other events, providing revenue for the Fund and often fun and entertainment for those participating. RHA members who already raise money for local charities may also wish to donate at least part to their own Benevolent Fund.
Gift Aid and legacies - Individuals and companies can make tax-free donations under the Gift Aid scheme. Details are available from Alistair Morrow. You may also wish to include the RHA Benevolent Fund as a beneficiary in your will. It’s so easy to arrange and your legacy will help ensure the security of the Fund in years to come.
Centurions - Each month a Centurions draw is held, with cash prizes ranging from £50 to £125. Once a year in June a cash prize of £500 is awarded. All Centurions participate by investing £100 in the Fund at the beginning of the year and full details are available from Alistair Morrow. A copy of the most recent report, prepared for the Trustees on the activities of the Fund, is available on request.
