Abnormal Loads Group

The Abnormal Loads Group is for members who specialise in the transport of wide, long or heavy loads, which require special markings, possible attendants or need to be escorted.

The group brings members together to share common experiences and to help them operate safely within the confines of the abnormal loads rules including information exchange regarding road works, restrictions and liaison with other bodies in the interests of safety.

Car Transporters Group

The Car Transporters Group caters for RHA members specialising in the transportation of motor vehicles, using multi-vehicle transporters.

The group aims to maintain and promote professional standards to ensure that vehicles are transported safely and reach the customer in the best possible condition.

International Group

Formed in 1958 the International Group, with over 300 members, is the oldest and largest RHA specialist group. Full membership of the group is open to RHA members who hold a Certificate of Professional Competence for International Haulage and RHA associate members engaged in activities allied to international haulage.

Livestock and Milk Group

Membership of this group is open to members who specialise in the carriage of livestock or dairy products. Specialist RHA Conditions of Carriage which have become the industry standard are available for livestock transport. Also available are RHA Conditions for the carriage of bulk liquids for milk hauliers.

National Agricultural Foods & Tipping Group

Membership of this group is open to hauliers within the agricultural and aggregates industries including members operating within London on construction, demolition contracts and those operating tipper vehicles in other regions of the UK. The group also covers the food chain from field to plate, as well as the construction and civil engineering sector, and aims to provide help and advice to members.

Tankers Group

The group maintains representation at meetings convened by a range of government departments and industry bodies concerned with development of regulations. An example would be the current review by the SQA of ADR: driver training, vehicle equipment specifications, vehicle design and construction and operational performance connected with the safe carriage of bulk liquids, powders and gases.

Transport Warehousing and Pallet Distribution Group

The proactive group that offers members the opportunity to receive specific sector updates and benefits through information, forums, group meetings and events. An active group that supports a collaborative approach which helps foster a spirit of co-operation between members, whilst respecting the competitive nature of their businesses.

Waste Management Group

The group provides members with information and advice relevant to regulations originating from the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and European Union directives. Guidance is also provided with regards to wastes management industry procedures for improving efficiency and safety during the collection, transportation and discharge of wastes and effluents at licensed disposal sites.
