Membership of this group is open to hauliers who are involved in the carriage of bulk liquids, powders, or gases for hire-or-reward, in road tankers or tank containers. The group usually aims for two meetings a year, usually in the north-west of England.
The group maintains representation at meetings convened by a range of government departments and industry bodies concerned with development of regulations. These typically are ADR, driver training, vehicle equipment specifications, vehicle design and construction and operational performance connected with the safe carriage of bulk liquids, powders and gases.
The group’s past work includes the updating of the guidance on the prevention of falls from road tankers. This is a protocol document jointly produced by the Health & Safety Executive and the Road Haulage Association.
