Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor Apprenticeship

Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor Apprenticeship

A funded professional workplace training programme for developing highly competent transport or warehouse supervisors. Candidates will undertake Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence or IOSH Managing Safely training and qualification as part of the apprenticeship.

About the course

This level 3 apprenticeship has been developed by RHA in partnership with TRS to deliver the essential skills needed by logistics firms to facilitate growth and success.

The apprenticeship is designed to empower staff to lead and manage transport or warehouse operations for maximum productivity and provide knowledge on the specific legal obligations involved.

The Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor apprenticeship takes between 12 and 15 months to complete and can be used to develop team members to step into supervisory roles such as, transport coordinator, transport manager, warehouse manager and traffic planner.

As part of the apprenticeship, candidates will achieve either the Transport Manager CPC qualification or IOSH certification, depending on pathway chosen. Upon completion, individuals can apply for membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

What’s included?

Apprentices on the transport or warehousing pathways will develop professional competence across a wide array of critical areas, including:

  •  Understanding and meeting customer service contracts
  • Developing methods to monitor staff performance and behaviours, including recruitment and resource planning
  • Learning how to effectively use IT systems to promote productivity
  • Environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Supply chain operations monitoring and reporting
  • Resource planning methods and techniques
  • Organisational improvement techniques and project management skills

Who are TRS?

Our training partner, TRS, will work with you to develop a bespoke training plan that provides the exact skills your company requires. They then deliver the apprenticeship training to a mutually agreed timetable that fits around working schedules, individually supporting each participant from start to completion.

TRS was recently shortlisted for the AELP/FE Week logistics apprenticeship provider of 2024 and is rated excellent by employers for its apprenticeships.

RHA deliver the Transport Manager CPC as part of the overall apprenticeship for those who follow the transport pathway. Our Transport Manager CPC course has one of the highest pass rates in the country and can be studied either online or in a classroom.

For those following the warehouse pathway, IOSH certification training is included in the programme in place of the Transport Manager CPC.

Who is eligible?

The Transport and Warehouse Operations Supervisor apprenticeship is available to both levy and non-levy paying businesses based in England only (not available in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland).

How is it funded?

This apprenticeship is available to employers for little or no cost. For small and medium businesses that do not pay the apprenticeship levy, the Government funds 95% of the apprenticeship. Larger firms that pay the levy can meet 100% of the costs using their levy funds. For those studying the transport pathway, the Transport Manager CPC qualification is included at no extra cost, usually costing around £1500.

TRS recently won the AELP/FE Week logistics apprenticeship provider of 2024
