Course Content: 4 Modules: Fleet Systems, Recording inspection Activity, Vehicle Inspection and IRTEC Assessment
Whether you carry out your own vehicle maintenance or contract it out to a garage, keeping your vehicles in a compliant, roadworthy condition is essential. The course is suitable for fleet managers, workshop personnel and vehicle maintenance supervisors and covers everything from walkaround dally checks and defect reporting, to tachograph technology and guidance on accurate record keeping. This course is designed to train and prepare HGV/PSV inspection Technicians enabling them to gain the accredited 5-year IRTEC licence.
It is suitable for trainee and intermediate technicians, fleet managers, workshop personnel and pre-lRTEC accreditation candidates. Please note that on the second day of training access to a suitable HGV/PSV vehicle over 3500kgs GVW will be required.
IRTEC Accreditation
Course Length: 1 Day
Course Content: 1 Module: Assess Motor Vehicle Condition.
If you inspect or service commercial vehicles you can now obtain IRTEC accreditation (valid for 5 years) through RHA Training. IRTEC is an independent accreditation and validates the competence of technicians working in the road haulage and passenger carrying industries. Developed by the Institute of Transport Engineers (IRTE), IRTEC is recognised as the industry benchmark of competence that provides technicians with formal acknowledgement of their skills. Not only does it enhance the employer’s commitment to excellence, but it also gives aspiring technicians a recognised career path. It will actively improve standards of vehicle maintenance and consequently road safety.
Technicians are assessed every 5 years ensuring their knowledge is current and reaches the desired standard before each renewal.
