Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence
The Transport Manager CPC course is designed to fully prepare candidates for the Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence in either Road Haulage or Passenger Transport Operations.
It is requirement that applicants for Standard national and International Goods or Passenger Vehicle Operator Licences appoint sufficient people to act as transport manager. Transport Managers must hold a licence to practice certificate issued by one of the Department for Transport Awarding Bodies.
The licence to practice can only be gained by proving you are competent to run a transport operation, to do this you must sit and pass the exams set by the Awarding Body.
The course is run in three formats to ensure that all candidates can be catered for. Face to face classroom-based courses are run on a 2-4 days a week basis over 3- 4 weeks ending with the exam day in the last week. Online courses are run on a ½ day or 1 day per week basis over a longer period to coincide with the exam days. The third option gives candidates the opportunity to study at home and includes home study materials which have assignments linked to each section, once a section is complete the assignment is allocated and marked and feedback given to allow you to gauge progress, in the final stages practice exams are set to give you the chance to see how you are doing and if you are ready to sit.
All options include extended preparation for the exams either conducted online or in the classroom.
Exams are run on pre-set dates throughout the year and are completed either proctor service at home or work meaning there is a reduced need for you to travel on the exam day. Full details of exam dates and preparation days are available on the booking page.
Candidates should note that if you wish to sit both Road Haulage and Passenger examinations, you will need to sit the examinations on different dates. If you need to do this, please contact us for advice on how best to achieve the two qualifications.
