Safe Loading and vehicle checks for Scaffolders
DVSA approved driver CPC periodic training developed in collaboration with the Scaffolding Association. This course is for anyone who loads scaffolding onto vehicles, as well as those that drive a vehicle carrying scaffolding, whether they require Driver CPC hours or not.
This 7 hour DVSA approved driver CPC periodic training course will provide delegates with the opportunity to update their knowledge on the recent changes to the code of practice for Securing loads on HGVs and goods vehicles. By detailing who is responsible, what is required to stay safe and compliant when loading vehicles and the consequences of getting it wrong.
This course will also provide delegates with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of how to conduct vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is in a safe roadworthy condition. Including what items need to be checked, how to identify and complete a defect or NIL defect report. Delegates will also be given an understanding of how the enforcement agencies, their powers and documentation they may use during enforcement events.
As a professional HGV driver you will need to complete 35 hours of Driver CPC training every 5 years. Those eligible for driver CPC may have seven hours uploaded to the DVSA database. All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
