Don't be caught out with cherished plates

The RHA has assisted members with fines issued by Transport for London (TfL) over LEZ/ULEZ and DVS compliance due to personalised plate transfers not being reported to TfL.
When a personalised or ‘cherished’ plate transfer takes place, DVLA does not update TfL’s records. Operators must therefore ensure they inform TfL of any changes to avoid fines.
Members that have transferred a plate must notify TfL by making an online enquiry HERE. After proof of the cherished plate transfer has been submitted, TfL will be able to associate a DVS star rating with your new vehicle.
TfL will need to cancel existing DVS permits as they cannot be transferred to another vehicle or number plate. The operator will then need to make a new permit application.
To check vehicle LEZ/ULEZ compliance click HERE. If an operator hasn't contacted TfL to update their vehicle record, gets a fine, and wishes to challenge it, they can appeal HERE.
They must not ignore it and always provide evidence of why they believe the fine was issued incorrectly.
