London’s Silvertown Tunnel opens today – tolls introduced

The Silvertown Tunnel in London has opened today (Monday 7 April).

The route links Silvertown in east London to the Greenwich Peninsula and has been built to help reduce congestion at the nearby Blackwall Tunnel.

Tolls will be operational at both tunnels between 06.00hrs-22.00hrs every day except Christmas Day.

Selected peak charges (Monday-Friday only – northbound 06.00hrs-10.00hrs and southbound 16.00hrs-19.00hrs)

Small vans – £4.00
Large vans – £6.50
HGVs - £10.00

Selected charges (off peak – weekdays outside of peak hours and at all times on weekends):

Small vans – £1.50
Large vans – £2.50
HGVs - £5.00

Crossings are free between 22:00 - 06:00.
