RHA launches new 100% electric simulator van

We’ve launched our new 100% electric simulator van today - and for us, this is about more than just a new vehicle.

It’s about understanding what the transition to EV really looks like in practice.

We’re introducing it alongside our existing diesel simulator because the reality is simple: operators are managing both worlds right now. And if we’re serious about supporting them, we need to reflect that.

Using the simulator - whether diesel or electric - gives people a genuine feel for the environment drivers operate in every day. That matters. Because better understanding leads to better decisions.

We brought the EV van to the Fowler Welch Driver of the Year at Donington Park, where drivers, managers and leadership teams were able to step in and experience it first-hand alongside the competition.

That’s where the most valuable conversations happen - not in theory, but in context. Managers seeing the realities of the cab. Drivers sharing what works - and what doesn’t. And already, we’re starting to see some of the practical challenges around infrastructure, access and day-to-day usability. Exactly the kind of insight we need to build a clearer picture of what comes next.

This isn’t about making big claims. It’s about learning by doing, building evidence over time, and using that insight to better support operators, drivers and the wider industry.

We’ll be taking the van out across events, training and engagement over the coming months - and sharing what we learn along the way.

Because if we’re serious about the future of vans, we need to understand the reality of the cab first.

Thanks to Fowler Welch for the opportunity to be part of a brilliant event and for putting drivers and their experience front and centre.
